At Arc Herkimer, our mission is to empower people with disabilities and enrich lives throughout our community. We're looking for a dedicated and proactive Quality Assurance Specialist / Safety Officer to help us maintain excellence across our programs and facilities.
What You'll Do
Quality Assurance Specialist
- Conduct audits, reviews, and assessments to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.
- Assist with HIPAA privacy and security compliance efforts.
- Support agency-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct investigations and reviews as assigned.
- Interpret regulations and help departments develop effective compliance processes.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on quality and compliance topics.
- Help strengthen systems that support outstanding services for the people we support.
Safety Officer
- Lead and coordinate Arc Herkimer's agency-wide safety program.
- Chair the Safety Committee and promote a culture of safety.
- Conduct and oversee safety inspections across agency locations.
- Track, analyze, and report safety data and trends.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate safety training programs for employees.
- Oversee safety equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and workplace safety initiatives.
Qualifications
One of the following is required:
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field and one (1) year of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of relevant experience.
Additional qualifications:
- Workplace safety experience required.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD regulations, and compliance standards preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret regulations and implement practical solutions.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, or reviews.
- Agency-approvable driver's license required.
