As a Staff Development & Training Specialist, you’ll play an important role in developing employees, strengthening teams, and helping staff provide exceptional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As a Staff Development & Training Specialist, you’ll play an important role in developing employees, strengthening teams, and helping staff provide exceptional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Lead engaging trainings on a variety of topics
- Develop, update, and improve training curriculum and materials
- Partner with managers to identify employee training needs
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback to staff
- Conduct trainings at Arc Herkimer locations and off-site settings
- Coordinate training schedules to meet team and employee needs
- Stay current on regulations, policies, and best practices
- Review and maintain training evaluations and records
- Create blended learning opportunities including classroom instruction, online learning, hands-on training, and role modeling
- High school diploma required
- Two years of experience in training, teaching, or staff development preferred
- Experience developing training curriculum required
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office preferred
- Must possess an agency-approvable driver’s license
