Mechanic

Starting rate $22.50/hr.
Monday through Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week.
18+ years old, diploma/GED required.
Your expertise in auto mechanics can truly make a difference for people with disabilities:
- Repair agency vehicles, including buses, cars, vans, and SUVs
- Ensure quality working conditions of all agency vehicles through preventative maintenance
- Prepare vehicles for all NYS inspections
- Perform internal inspections, keep accurate vehicle records, and update inventory
- Fulfill NYS DMV and NYS DOT regulations for repairs and record-keeping
- Collect & review daily driving logs and reports
- Promptly complete any and all repairs noted on driver reports
- Drive bus or vehicle as directed
Qualifications:
- 3 years professional experience with medium duty bus, truck chassis, including air brake, diesels, and gas engines
- Section 720 & 721 of NYS DOT regulations preferred
- Possess NYS inspection certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
- Must possess NYS CLD Class B license or obtain within 6 months
- Must have basic tools to perform maintenance of medium duty vehicles
